Allen Essentials...
+ Allen Memorial is a Southern Baptist Church founded in 1859. We are named after a member of our church, Rev. Walter Kendall Allen, a foreign missionary who died in India in 1925. Our Senior Pastor, Dr. William Warren, came to Allen in 1984. After having served twelve years, he received God’s call to lead our congregation to relocate our facility and to become a cell church.
+ As a cell church, we place evangelistic small groups at the core of our ministry.
+ Our leaders are focused on launching, equipping, multiplying, and nurturing healthy cell groups.
+ We place an equal emphasis on cells and celebration (Sunday morning worship).
+ We call our cells “Neighborhood Life.”
+ Each Neighborhood Life Group consists of 4-15 people who meet weekly outside the church building for the purposes of evangelism, community, and discipleship with the goal of multiplication.
+ These cells make the church smaller as people gather in homes to build friendships, apply God’s Word, and serve in our church and community.
